Homefront Connection Military Family Day at the YMCA :

On Sunday, 28 February 2010 Willmar's Homefront Connection sponsored a Military Family Day at the local YMCA for military personnel, veterans, and their families.

The event was full of games and activities for all ages. It was a fun filled event, with a good turnout.

USMHC was asked to provide a small display of military items from the current conflicts to show the public.

Photos of the various items on display are below.

US Navy and Marine Corps uniforms from today's Sailors and Marines. The Navy uniforms on display are expected to become obsolete within the year.

Army uniforms and an Air Force desert camouflage uniform were also on display. A homemade Iraqi flag that was brought home by a veteran was also included in the display.

I also brought out a few of the medals that have been awarded during the current conflicts. Included are the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
